My thoughts:

I absolutely loved this book! My emotions concerning book number 1 were a little mixed (as you can read here) but this one is just freaking fantastic. The plot in this books is very well developed and is perfectly paced throughout the book, which it wasn’t in book one. The plot is entertaining and interesting, and it will most definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.

I love seeing how both Damen and Laurent develop as characters and how their relationship changes and develops. We also get more background information about both of them and also get to know them so much better than in book one. I loved that.

We also see the emergence of some minor characters that will play important roles. Jord is my absolute favourite. I loved how Pacat used some of these characters (but not the ones you expect!) to further the intrigue of the book. The female ruled tribes are just badass.

Do I recommend it?

Yes!
